Super Bowl Gospel Celebration

PAT AND EMMITT SMITH CHARITIES NAMED OFFICIAL NORTH TEXAS CHARITABLE PARTNER OF THE 2011 SUPER BOWL GOSPEL CELEBRATION

DALLAS, (October 12, 2010) – Pat and Emmitt Smith Charities has been named the official North Texas charitable partner for the 2011 Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. The partnership was announced during a private reception to kick-off the Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities signature fundraising event, the Second Annual Emmitt Smith Celebrity Invitational.

“This is an excellent partnership for us and a wonderful way to participate in Super Bowl Weekend,” said Emmitt Smith, Co-Founder of Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities.  Both Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities and the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration are about the community, uplifting and inspiring others, especially youth, and making a difference in their lives. Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities is a 501 (c)(3) public charity that creates unique experiences and educational enrichment opportunities for underserved children. These opportunities give children the chance to develop a strong cultural identity, solid foundation for success and a vehicle for transforming their communities. This partnership is designed to raise awareness and financial support for the organization, and allow selected North Texas youth to enjoy a part of Super Bowl Weekend activities.  For each ticket purchased for the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, $3.00 will go to Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities.

Since its inception in 1999, the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration has partnered with a charity in each Super Bowl host city, and has donated more than $300,000 and more than 5,000 tickets.

Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, named by USA Today as “One of the Best Super Bowl Events to Attend,” comes to North Texas on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. at Music Hall in Fair Park. The legacy concert features top gospel/contemporary Christian and mainstream artists, marquee players and the NFL PLAYERS Choir.
